When we keep first things first through faith and obedience, we give opportunity for God's promises becoming reality. When we apply the principle of First Fruits at the first part of the year, it is a way of humbling ourselves before God, and activating the harvest that He has made available to us. When you give from a heart of honor and generosity, God will move in areas you don't even know how to ask for yet! Obeying the first commandment to love God with everything (Mark 12:30) means you are going ALL IN with God, in every area!
