KINGDOM LIVING: Promise for All

Day: Day 10
Date: January 18, 2023
Title: KINGDOM LIVING: Promise for All

We are continuing to look at Kingdom Realities that were released on the Day of Pentecost.

There are many Kingdom pillars that were laid down on that great day that changed everything into the future.

Today we are looking forward, from age to age, at the promise of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:39 NASU

For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.

God is such a good God!  He is so thorough, and He created us to receive all that we would need in our lives to have life and life abundantly.

  • God provided covenant relationships throughout the Old Testament.
  • God provided prophetic words that would speak into the future about Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection and what it would mean for us.
  • God brought forth John the Baptist, at the same time as Jesus, so he would grow up to prophecy repentance of sins and water baptism to prepare the way of our Lord.

There are so many promises that were spoken that have been fulfilled, from the Old Testament until now.

Many of them continue from generation to generation.

Let’s take a look at the promise to Abraham, the “Father of our Faith,” and his relationship with God.

Genesis 17:1-3 NIV

1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before Me and be blameless.
2 I will confirm My covenant between Me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”
3 Abram fell facedown.

This is an amazing promise!

Please note, the promise did not come quickly.  Oh, but you can be very sure if God has given His word, there are Covenant promises that will come to pass!

Let us also note that Abraham had his part that God expected of him. God made a point of saying, “I AM GOD ALMIGHTY.”

God doesn’t waste anything.  He said that because we all know that Abraham (and all of us) can discount our commitment to acknowledge Him even when He is faithful to His promises to us.

During the time Abraham was waiting for his promised covenant son, God knew in advance Abraham was going to waiver and try to have a son through his servant.

God made a remedy for this by telling Abraham that he was going to need to acknowledge HIM as God ALMIGHTY, the All-Powerful One.  He was also telling Abraham he needed to walk before Him blameless.

Blameless means sincerely, undefiled, upright, and whole.

We can learn a lot from Abraham’s response. He fell facedown!

We understand by this that he cast himself down and was overwhelmed, slain in the presence of a Holy God!

Many today do not understand when the Holy Spirit is moving in our midst and a person gets “slain” in the Spirit, as we refer to it.   This was not unusual in the Old Testament if you look at all the different times this occurred.

When God shows up in a personal way to reveal Himself to us at a deeper level, our physical bodies just surrender to the awesome power of the presence of our Almighty God.

We give way in the natural and fall under His power, and experience His glory.

God wants us to experience these times as He continues to impart to us His heart and His power that will then flow through us to reach out to others.  These times of refreshing cause multiplication of His presence and His Kingdom Will.

In these moments, God reveals truths that can only be realized with the revelation of the Holy Spirit as He continues to help us live out what God has released to us.

He is asking us to make room for time alone with Him, and then to dwell in His presence.  That is how we will become His dwelling places and release change into the atmosphere of this world.

We know that change is here.  There are commands for us, as there were for Abraham to leave where he was and venture into the unknown, where he could experience more dependence on his relationship with God.

But God never asks for dramatic changes without including dramatic promises.

God continued to speak promise to Abraham.

Genesis 17:4-8 NIV

4 As for Me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
5 No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
6 I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
7 I will establish My covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
8 The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.

It was a covenant of blessings!

However, today I want you to understand that it was also a covenant of revealing who God is to every generation. God promises that He will continue to reveal Himself as God Almighty by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is what happened on the Day of Pentecost.

While Peter was releasing revelation truths through the power of the Holy Spirit, God was releasing the promise of MORE REVELATION to every generation by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Genesis, God released to Abraham the promise of the ability to experience God’s Spirit. Abraham could operate by God’s Spirit through his physical body surrendered to the overwhelming reality of God’s presence.

By the manifestation of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, a new and better covenant would begin and it would continue from generation to generation.

Hebrews 8:10 AMP

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

These are the days when God’s covenant is coming alive from the inside of us.  We will know our God in a more intimate way if we press in after Him. And we will enjoy the benefit package that can bring the change we have been desiring.

Some of what we are now desiring has not ever been felt until now.  Because Heaven is pressing into our hearts, we are compelled to want to live more effectively and to believe God’s Word at a deeper level.

This is when we will see signs and wonders become everyday realities to our lives.

The frustration of the past has held us captive, even without us knowing it at times. But there is an unveiling of the enemy’s tactics that God is releasing.  His children will arise with fierceness against the lies of the evil one and find they are victorious because they have covenant promises to secure the victory.

When the Holy Ghost came, He came to stay.  He came to bear witness of the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  He is the source of personal testimony and revelation!

John 14:16-17 NASU

16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

Why is this so important to us?

KINGDOM LIVING TRUTH

Jesus gave us the promise that the Father would send us just what we needed so we can do all He has asked us to do.

And how long will He be there for us?  Forever!

Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity, and He is alive, abiding and working in us from generation to generation!

The promise is a covenant promise to Peter and all the disciples then, and all the disciples now, and all the generations after.

If we really believe this we will understand that all the gifts of the Spirit are also ours because they are a part of what we are called to do to fulfill the Great Commission.

We will rise in our faith and move in the power of the Spirit within us!  This will be a year of understanding this covenant promise and yielding to the One that abides with us.

Hallelujah!

ACTIVATION:

PRAYER:

Holy Spirit,

Thank You for coming to awaken me and reveal the Father and Son to me.  Thank You for leading and guiding me into the truth of how I am supposed to respond to this truth.

I fall on my face before Almighty God with thankfulness of covenant provision. I worship the Father, the Son, and You, Holy Spirit, from a heart of gratefulness.

Come today and overwhelm me with the Kingdom Reality that You are moving through me for the benefit of others to show them love.  Let me recognize the power of Your love, that You have deposited in me. I am committed to not letting that love, and all the gifts You have given to me, be neglected.

Come, Holy Spirit, and fill my heart and my mouth with the overflow of God’s words. I need You, they need You, and You have come, as promised, to move in this generations to bring revival and change, and I get to be a part of it!

Thank you! I love you.
