KINGDOM LIVING: Build Relationship

Day: Day 14 Date: January 22, 2023 Title: KINGDOM LIVING: Build Relationship If you know me, you know that I think the entire Bible is about relationships. And I will say this:  I am right about that! So let’s look at the results of the outpouring of the Holy Ghost and 3,000 souls changed in a moment of time. They weren’t just devoting themselves to the teaching of the apostles; they were devoted to fellowship.

Acts 2:42 NASU

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.

Fellowship means this:
  • Partnership
  • Communication
  • Distribution
  • Participation
These are the pillars of the Kingdom that we are looking at.  We know the Church is still alive and this is what it was founded on. We have gotten so busy as a Church that sometimes we don’t take the time to build partnerships or communicate well. But this is why we have the model given for Kingdom living. We must include this in our lives. Though we may be participating and distributing to others, that is not the only thing that makes the difference. This is a year where things are going to be initiated in such a way that we can rise up into what God is asking of us to be effective. There was a reason that these new disciples in Acts 2 didn’t have a moment of salvation and then move backwards into their own ways. They were aware of what was necessary as foundational truths and foundational actions to move forward into the amazing life God had prepared for them. We have no idea of the many things God did through these lives.  However, what we do know is that Jesus took His three and a half years of ministry and poured into His twelve disciples by fellowship.  They partnered.  They communicated.  They also participated and distributed. We know from the Scriptures that Jesus valued relationships with them because He knew that is how their lives would be impacted forever.
  • They would recall all that Jesus said to them, and how He loved them and corrected them.
  • They would remember the love He showed others, and how He gave everything for their benefit and for the benefit of others, no matter the price.
  • They would not have been who they were in the history of the Church if He had not poured into them individually, and corporately.
Jesus is our example. We all need:
  • To be discipled
  • To have relationships that will work alongside us as we all learn and grow together
  • To disciple others
Someone else said it this way: Everyone needs a Paul, a Barnabas, and a Timothy in life – a mentor, an associate, and an apprentice. We all need someone to build into our lives and mentor us, we all need someone who can labor and work alongside us, and we all need someone to whom we can pass on the wisdom and knowledge God has given us. We will need more than just one person in each of these categories throughout our lives. KINGDOM REALITY: God’s Kingdom works through relationships.              No one can do it all because you were never meant to do it all or do it alone.             We need one another to not only help us, but we need to be a help to others.             It is the way the Kingdom operates. And we are going to co-operate with the Kingdom this year more than other years. ACTIVATION: Ask God to give you a name of someone that you already know and pray for God to give you a way to build a deeper relationship with them. Then call them this week to make arrangements.   We must engage in Kingdom living.  Do it ALL for HIM, but understand you will also reap a blessing. PRAYER: Lord, Prepare our hearts to be pliable and teachable.  We know that building relationships can be trying because You made us all so different.   However, we know the beauty is that You made us all so different. We can glean and grow together by valuing what someone else has that we do not. We are ready for more.  Let us be the one who are willing to submit to another. Let us be the ones who are willing to co-labor with one another.  Let us be the ones who will pour into others. This is Your heart that You portrayed to Your disciples. Thank You for Kingdom building. We are in it to win this world to You, precious Savior. We love You wholeheartedly. Let us operate as You modeled it for us.
  • We declare growth for ourselves and for others.
  • We decree Your Kingdom is coming and will be obvious through our lives.
  • We are going after the ONE today.
We thank You for loving us. We are forever grateful.  And we are grateful enough to change and embrace others on purpose for Your purposes. Amen.
