In this sermon, Jonathan Farrell defines fasting and the reasons why we fast, as well as the benefits of fasting. Jesus expected His disciples to fast regularly, and He demonstrated in His own life how powerful it is, not only for you personally, but spiritually, for you and for others. Barriers and strongholds are broken, faith is fortified, shortcomings are uprooted, healing and deliverance occurs, spiritual hunger increases, spiritual empowerment takes place, and the enemy is no longer intimidating! Fasting is not to strong-arm God or earn answers to our prayers. But it is an opportunity to put God above all else, even our hunger pangs. How much are you willing to give up, in order to receive all that He has for you?
