BAPTISM OF REPENTANCE – BAPTISM OF ACCEPTANCE
John’s ministry was the transition from the Old Testament, represented by God dealing with His people physical to physical, under the law. John called people to repentance of their sins. When he saw Jesus coming to him to be baptized, he understood in that moment that they were both accomplishing something that had to be done. Jesus came to fulfill the law that was impossible for man to obey without the help of Holy Spirit and fire, bringing the ability for internal cleansing. God would not release Jesus into His ministry status until people’s hearts were prepared by repentance. In her Sermon, Pastor Dawn explains how John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance, but Jesus’ baptism was a baptism of acceptance!
