What Makes the Difference for Those That Make a Difference

One of the ingredients of impact in those who make a difference is truth – God’s revelatory truth; then passion – a burning zeal that consumes their spirit-man; and a reflex obedience to follow through with God’s dictates and instructions. Jesus is a person that represents the truth of everything – he is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Peter, despite his inadequacies was a proclaimer of truth and over 5,000 people got saved in a day. Paul, after his conversion from being a persecutor, commanded infirmity to leave a woman in the name of “truth” (Jesus) when the zeal of the Lord consumed him. Truth always prevails because Jesus has won the victory. The name of Jesus makes a difference.

Passion was the ingredient that caused Jesus to leave his majestic throne as God in heaven, to come to earth. God loved us so passionately that he gave us Jesus to atone for our sins. David in the earthly realm was considered a friend of God who loved him so passionately that he was called – a man after God’s heart. David had an intimate relationship with

God – through the shepherd days when he slayed lions and bears; and when he slayed Goliath. He recognized the goodness of God to him and it helped him retrace his steps and seek forgiveness from the Lord.

And while David sought the face of the Lord with a broken spirit and a contrite heart, he remained a great king in utter submission and in obedience to the sovereign King of the universe – God is his name.

Those who make an impact in the kingdom are those who know the truth (Jesus), who are so consumed with his zeal and are passionate about him; they are also in perfect obedience and submission to his will.

That’s what God is offering everyone who desires to make a difference today. God moves where there is a passionate person going after him, yearning and thirsty for him.
