Title: 2023 Fasting Guide Introduction – Kingdom Living
Welcome to the year of endless possibilities as we pursue God’s Kingdom Realities!
We have certainly experienced the escalation of the enemy’s plans in 2022 as he tried to destroy the fiber of morality, of our economy, of the community of gathered believers, and of unity.
He has tried to redefine the truth of the Word of God and insert his will and his plans into our society.
Our God has always had a plan that wins over the enemy’s plans when we position ourselves properly and do what He desires as a priority in our lives.
Last year, we knew God was giving us a blank slate so that we could build again on foundational Truths of the Word, and we recognized that great change would have to come.
We also found that a lot of the great “change” had to happen in us. Though that could be difficult, it was necessary to begin to prepare us for this year.
I believe most of us are looking forward to God bringing us a sweeping move of the Holy Spirit. It will cause radical change to occur in many lives as they experience salvation and transformation.
Hallelujah! Our God is still on the throne!
But let us recall some things as we go into these weeks of fasting, prayer, and worship together to bring us into close unity as we move forward in Kingdom Realities.
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He taught them to pray like this:
Which art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Look how He began:
He didn’t say, “Pray to MY Father.” He said, “Pray to OUR Father.” He was making it clear to His disciples, then and now, that we must start recognizing who He really is, and who we really are.
He is OUR Father, our ABBA, our Daddy. And we are HIS CHILDREN.
The next thing we need to realize is that He is ruling His Kingdom from Heaven where He sits upon His rightful throne. He is the creator and ruler of the universe. He is the ultimate. He is above all things. He will always be above all things, all entities.
We must then reverence Him for His love for us and how He has included us (though He certainly didn’t have to), and be grateful to Him as we recognize the authority He has and what He has also given to us.
Then Jesus’ instruction is to pray for God’s Kingdom to come and for His will to be done. Where? HERE! On earth, as it is in Heaven.
I know that we are familiar with these passages. However, we can no longer see this as a passage, a verse, or just a prayer. This is for us to pray with faith and have confidence that this can be our reality.
His will coming to earth from Heaven to us and through us is our reality.
God’s will. Not ours, but His will for our lives will impact others and the great joy of being a Kingdom builder will be ours.
Thank you for joining me on this journey into the unknown, as we pursue it becoming more real to us than we can imagine at this moment.
God has great things for you. For me. For all of us together as we continue to pursue His heart.
You sent Your Son to model Heaven’s will on earth for us. We are looking forward to seeing the amazing things that Jesus did come to us this year, but also through us.
Father, we are setting our affections on You.
We are committing to desiring Your will above ours. Help us to lay our lives down and be willing to pick up Your heart commitment to each Kingdom Reality You desire for us to walk in.
We are so in love with You, but we are desperately wanting You to lead us closer, God, to You.
We can no longer allow our will to overrule Your will if we are to experience all that You have predestined for this year, and for our lifetimes.
Thank You for hearing us, and allowing us to move together higher with You. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
