Since sin entered the world with Adam and Eve, we have been “in a war” and God is angry every day with the devil for hurting the ones He loves. It’s grace that gets you from where you are to where God wants you to be, and it’s grace that helps you understand the victory that God has already provided and shows you how to maintain a changed life. A foundational understanding that we are saved by grace and that Jesus gave us His righteousness helps us to live by the truth that sin no longer has any power over us! Jesus didn’t take away the rules—He fulfilled them! If you find yourself following the rules in order to be righteous, then you will be unsatisfied because Jesus wants you to be righteous by grace and enjoy true freedom by relying 100 percent on the love of God!
