Nevertheless, At Thy Word
Jesus climbs into Peter's boat at the shore of the Sea of Galilee, to teach him a very important lesson. Peter has to lay down his pride, his own way of doing things, his own reasoning, his own will, his own expertise, and even his failures, in order to fully obey Jesus. But when he surrenders and follows Jesus' command, he learns that Jesus always knows best, and Peter was blessed beyond measure. Now, Jesus is getting into our boat. He is coming into our circumstances, our own way, and He is asking us to respond in the same way, "Nevertheless at Thy Word...". Total surrender and total obedience are what is necessary right now for the Church to fulfill His plans for us. Peter was transformed in that moment and became a fisher of men. It's time to lay down our old ideas and patterns and launch into the deep with Him, and let down our nets for a great catch!
