You Can’t Change the Truth

You cannot change or adapt the truth to your circumstances. The truth is also not relative to your current situation. There is only one truth and it is the same for everyone. The truth impacts our lives and it does not change. However, it may be accepted or rejected by the person the truth impacts.

The truth does not depend on our acceptance or denial for its validity. We depend on the truth, and without it being foundational for humanity, the human race will be lost without the truth.

Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden were told the truth about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but somehow they went against the truth and chose not to believe or accept it; they chose the devil’s lie instead. Unfortunately, the truth is also not always subject to popular opinion. It is not democratically decided upon.

The truth is also timeless. It does not change nor evolve. As it is today, so will it be tomorrow. The truth is relentless, it constantly is being shown and thrown to people until someone turns around and catches it.

You cannot change the truth, but the truth can change you and me. The truth of God’s Word (in Eph. 1:2-4) affirms that we’ve been made holy and perfect in Him; therefore, our behavior should reflect that God calls us holy and perfect.  If we believe that truth that we’ve been made holy and perfect, then we will live differently.

Even if you make a mistake, you should stay in the context of the truth that you’ve been made holy and perfect – to ask for forgiveness and find your path back to right-standing with God.

The person who catches the truth can share the truth. And to become holy or live righteous means being sanctified in the truth of the Word (John 17:17).

You have been made holy! Truth! Therefore, you and I have a responsibility to receive and declare it. If you believe that you’ve been made holy, then you should act like it.
