Purpose and Goodness of God

God’s goodness is designed to work in us and through us, but it requires that we have the right perspective of who God is to us. It limits our own design if we do not accurately know who God is to us. He is a righteous judge, but he is also a forgiver of sins. His thoughts and plans towards us are good – to give us hope and a future. We are the righteousness of Christ, more than conquerors and an embodiment of his promises. The goodness of God gets activated and manifests in us when we keep declaring who God is, who we are, and the rightful place where the enemy needs to be.

The revelation of God to us as our shepherd, also confers on us the leadership and guidance to keep us in purpose check. A sheep without the ability of recognizing its shepherd’s voice gets lost and

becomes vulnerable to the enemy as a prey. Another way in which we become oblivious of God’s goodness and one who may be close to becoming purposeless is when we look-back (backslide) – imagining the days of the “leeks, garlic, onions and cucumbers” like the children of Israel complained of their past even when God sustained them with MANNA from heaven – in their journey through the wilderness.

God requires that our hearts be wholly devoted to him – to keep us being protected in purpose; which is why the scripture confirms that all things work together for Good – for those who Love God, and to those who are called according to his Purpose (Rom. 8:28).
