MARY

Day: Day Ten
Date: January 14, 2026

Up to this point in our fast, we have walked with those who Aligned with Heaven’s agenda: Moses, Joseph, David, Esther, and Daniel. Each person faced great cost and yet received greater rewards as they surrendered their will to the will of God.

Today, we look at Mary, the mother of Jesus—a young woman whose simple “yes” changed the world forever.

Mary’s story is the ultimate example of Heavenly Alignment and a very High Call it was because she yielded fully to God’s plan even when she did not understand it.

We are all called into the unexpected.

Mary was not from a wealthy family or royal lineage. She lived a humble life in Nazareth and was engaged to be married to Joseph, when Heaven interrupted her plans.

Luke 1:26–28

26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

Heaven had chosen her. But with the call came confusion, fear, and a choice: would she Align with God’s purpose, or protect her own reputation and comfort?

When Heaven calls, it often interrupts the ordinary. Divine purpose rarely fits within our plans—it transforms them.

Imagine what Mary experienced on the day God’s angel brought her this news!

Luke 1:30–33

30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

What an overwhelming message! A young, unmarried woman was being told she would carry the Son of God.

Mary didn’t fully understand the “how,” but she trusted the “Who.”

Her Alignment wasn’t based on complete understanding—it was based on faith.

Luke 1:34–35

34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”

Every act of Heavenly Alignment requires us to believe that the Holy Spirit can do the impossible. Mary didn’t rely on logic; she leaned on the promise.

Then came the moment that forever defined her destiny.

Luke 1:38

Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Those words—“Let it be to me according to your word”—are the very heartbeat of Heavenly Alignment.

Mary said yes to something she could not control, fully trusting the goodness and sovereignty of God. Her obedience allowed Heaven’s plan of salvation to be birthed on earth.

Every true Alignment with Heaven carries a cost—but it also carries a promise.

I know we don’t like to recognize this, but to fulfill God’s call completely, there is a cost. The cost may vary, but we must surrender our will to God’s will, no matter what the cost.

Mary’s “yes” cost her greatly. She risked misunderstanding, judgment, and even rejection. Joseph could have walked away. Her community could have condemned her.

Alignment with Heaven will cause us to reach the High Call. But it will require the courage to stand even when you feel misunderstood.

Mary’s willingness to endure that season in faith opened the door for the Savior of the world to enter that world through her obedience.

When we say yes to God, others might not understand, but Heaven understands. And Heaven rewards obedience.

God blessed Mary and after she said yes, God confirmed His word through others to strengthen her and keep the dream alive.

Luke 1:41–45

And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! … Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

God often surrounds our obedience with confirmation—not to make us believe, but to strengthen the faith we’ve already chosen.

Mary’s Alignment not only carried Jesus—it carried joy, favor, and the witness of others who were touched by her obedience.

Mary’s obedience didn’t just bless her—it blessed all humanity.

Her surrender became the vessel for redemption. Heaven invaded earth through a young woman who said, “Let it be to me according you Your word.” This is how we reach the High Call.

Every time we Align with Heaven’s will, something divine is birthed through us—peace, healing, breakthrough, salvation. God still looks for willing vessels through whom His Kingdom can come.

Luke 1:49–50

49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation.

Mary magnified the Lord, not her circumstance. That’s what true Alignment produces—worship instead of worry.

Mary’s story challenges us to trust when we don’t understand, to yield when we can’t see the full picture, and to believe that God’s promises are greater than our fears.

PRAYER
Father,
Thank You for the example of Mary—pure, willing, and yielded to Your plan.
I choose today to Align my heart with Heaven’s will. Even when I don’t understand, I say, “Let it be to me according to Your Word.”
Overshadow me with Your Spirit, fill me with Your presence, and let Your purposes be birthed through my obedience.
Give me the courage to carry Your promises faithfully. May my life make room for Heaven’s agenda.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
