ABRAHAM

Day: Day One
Date: January 05, 2026

This is going to be a HIGH CALL fast.

I want you to FEEL the burn of denying yourself in order to spend that time pressing in to press on as I talked about yesterday.

Don’t just take this time lightly. I feel a heavy burden in my heart that we MUST do things on purpose, with a fervent heart, if we are going to receive ALL that the Lord has planned for us as part of the Church of the Living God.

Time is moving fast and only that which we do for eternal purposes will last.

Please determine that you are moving with the instruction of the Spirit of the Lord in how to get the closest to the Lord as you do this fast. Then we can enjoy the total fruit of our Promised Land.

I am crying out as I write this, for myself, for you, for the Body of Christ as a whole. It is GO time to fortify ourselves with God’s truth and desires for us.

This year, it was a little confusing for me as God was giving me the 2026 word. Because I received THREE major words to focus on. I ended up realizing they are all a part of THE HIGH CALL OF GOD.

The words that line up with the High Call are:

HEAVEN’S ALLIANCE, APPREHEND, and FORTIFY

So, I will be focusing on these titles for our Fasting Guide as we look at the importance of each one and how we can apply it to our lives.

Let’s start with Heaven’s Alliance.

We know Heaven’s Alliance is what Jesus did because of how He taught His disciples to pray:

Matthew 6: 10

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Heaven’s Alliance is modeled all throughout the Word of God and I will try to point that out this week as we study those that came into agreement with God’s will, timing, and purpose. The result of Heaven’s Alliance is that God’s will is being accomplished on the earth.

Let’s look at Abraham’s life in Genesis 12.

God (Yahweh) called Abraham to leave his homeland and promised to make him a great nation.

Genesis 12:1

Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.”

There is a lot of research that draws a conclusion that Abram’s Father, Terah, and his brother, Nahor, worshipped other gods along with Yahweh. I mention this because I want you to know that as confused as people may be about the real GOD, the real GOD is still after them. The one true God is calling them unto Himself, each with a purpose and destiny that can change many other’s lives.

And though that may have caused confusion (how could it not?), God chose Abram right in the midst of compromise, to be a strategic leader as he learned to Align with God’s purposes.

You must realize that you are also called. Not everyone is Abram, but everyone is called. And everyone has a great future if they put their faith in God.

This also explains why God asked Abram to leave his family, which he did, but he didn’t fully obey because he took his nephew Lot with him.

Abram had partial obedience, rationalizing that Lot needed his help because his father had died. Now we recognize Abram’s faith in God and full obedience to Him had to grow.

I am sure all of us can relate to that.

God gave Abram some great promises and spoke to him personally about them.

Genesis 12:2-3

2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing
3 I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

It would be a long journey of learning for Abram.

Genesis 12:7-8

7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land. ” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
8 And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord

This is the first time in the Bible where it says that God “appeared” to Abram.

This indicates a deep relationship was happening and Abram was being drawn into Heaven’s Alliance. ALLIANCE means:

  • A bond, a connection between families or individuals
  • An association to further the common interests of the members
  • Union by relationship in qualities
  • Partnership

God’s calling of Abram begins a new chapter in the Old Testament.

He would rise, and then he would falter. However, God was patient because He always saw him as ABRAHAM, the “Father of Many Nations.” We still have these covenant blessings from Abram alive in us today, because God made everlasting covenants with Abram, who then became ABRAHAM – “Father of Many Nations!”

We find out in Hebrews 11 what God was able to achieve with Abraham as he Aligned with Heaven.

Hebrews 11:8-10

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

And all the families, including us, shall be blessed!

These are some of my favorite verses because they come alive as we recognize they are still true for all of us.

Abraham’s obedience and faith positioned him to become the “Father of Faith” through whom all nations would be blessed – fulfilling God’s covenant plan He made with him.

What did Abraham learn in his journey with God?

  • That he could hear from God.
  • That he would fall, and rise, but he would obey God until He FULLY obeyed God.
  • He learned to draw near to God and he would find God nearer to him.
  • He experienced that with God he could soar past the natural and enjoy supernatural events in the very Presence of God.
  • He received covenant promises that would last forever.

This is our God’s character and His promises are everlasting.

We can and will experience what Abraham did when we realize the same things he did. We can, we must, just desire God’s will and follow Him into it.

PRAYER
Dear Father God,
Thank you for inviting us into your Heavenly alliance so we can enjoy the High Call that You desire for each one of us.
We want to desire it also, with all of our hearts. We know we can fall, but we also know we can arise in You and take the next steps You have written for us from before we were born.
We want to enjoy the beauty of being willing to leave all to follow You. We want to enjoy Your rescue when we fail. We long to see the heavenly vision for us and to obey You until we fully enjoy Your covenant promises for us, individually and corporately.
As we fast and give this time to You, let us give all to You, and allow us to know You, and the very vastness of Your love.
There is nothing better! Help us to embrace that.
Amen.

ACTION
Write down what you need to “count as loss” (ego, habits, fears, reliance on flesh). Then bring it on Wednesday night to tear it up and place it at the altar.

Abram would not have become Abraham if he did not see into the future. We cannot go forward if we are stuck in the past.

He had to go into the unknown with just his faith in God. It was a High Call, and God knew that Abraham would have to have faith for all generations.

So, through the trials he faced, he passed many tests.

What God wants for this season is for the Body of Christ to rise, and to rise we must not hold on to the restraints of the past.

We must operate in faith so the next generations can follow in our footsteps.

This is our Action for the day:

Create a two-column journaling moment.

Forgetting the Past and Going Forward into The High Call

What I Am Leaving In The Past Going Forward into The High Call

Examples:

  • Condemnation / Righteousness
  • Past disappointments / New faith expectations
  • Fear / Bold obedience
