WELCOME TO THE HIGH CALL IN 2026!

Day: Introduction
Date: January 04, 2026

I am always excited about the Fast and the Fasting Guide! As we fast and pray in unity, it creates an environment where we all can believe together and move together with Him and His desires for us.

This year we will be adding action to our Fast. I will include them wherever I feel it best, and ask you to PLEASE do this as we must keep moving forward in the Spirit together.

Faith without works is dead.

We can fast, but if we are not actively pursuing God, and putting action behind what we know, we will not experience what we have been believing God for. We are being called HIGHER with the very heart of God to bring change, first to ourselves, then to others. You will see this even in the fasting guidelines He Himself gave us through the prophet Isaiah.

So, we begin by understanding what God says about the fast He has chosen.

Isaiah 58:6

Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

This is our promise if we put God first in our fasting time. Satan’s chains will fall. We will experience giving our burden to the Lord, and we will get rid of oppression. Any yoke that needs to be broken shall be broken, for us and for those we are praying for.

This fast is worth giving up anything and setting our time with HIM as a priority. I pray this will become a habit in our life.

Then, it is also a time to have compassion.

Isaiah 58:7

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?

This is the time to give the Holy Spirit permission to show you if there is anything that you need to rid yourself of or adjust, so that you can live your life free from the enemy’s tactics.

When we fast, we take what we would have eaten and we give it away to the needy. We also give clothes to those who are in need. This is a godly fresh start.

The promise that goes with it is:

Isaiah 58:8

Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

And you will be very aware of His voice… which may be the very best part of all.

If you have felt distant from Him, or that you cannot hear Him clearly, this fast is your remedy!

Isaiah 58:9

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, “Here I am.” If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness.

In other words, mind your own life; do not judge others and do not gossip. Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!

Isaiah 58:10

If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

Extend your SOUL. Let your Body come under subjection to obedience on purpose. Let your Soul become aware of others until it is ruled by the Spirit, and you care more for them than you do yourself.

Again, there is a promise:

Isaiah 58:11

The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

God will guide you, continually–without ceasing, always near, always directing your pathway. He will be your actual satisfaction. Have you seen a watered garden with all of its beauty, with the flowers and the beautiful grass and the sun shining on it? Or maybe the watered garden is for vegetables or other things? All we know is it is beautiful and it keeps getting watered.

Isaiah 58:12

Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

Did you recognize that Scripture as a part of the foundation truths of the very thing God has given us in Isaiah 61:4?

Isaiah 61:4

And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.

How intricate is our God? How does He love us so very much that He ties everything together for us so we know how important what we do is to affect the next generations? How blessed are we!

Isaiah 58:13

If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words.

I do not need to reiterate how this applies to our fast, but we know it is vitally important we do this fast the right way. Honor Him. Come to Church. Do everything unto Him.

And if we do, what do we receive? You got it! More promises!

Isaiah 58:14

Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken.

I pray you keep this page as a reminder of why we are doing a fast, and how we are supposed to apply it. I believe this will change Liberty Life Center (and all who read it)!

Thank you for joining me as we dig deeper into the Word, and the prophetic word of the Lord. God is so faithful and we are going to APPREHEND how much He is involved in our lives and in the world, as He fulfills His promises to us.

What a mighty God we serve!

PRAYER
Oh Lord Most High,
We purpose in our hearts to put You first and deny our flesh, in the natural, by putting away those things that compel us or distract us from You, or have more attention or affection than we give to You.
We ask that You move upon us to allow this to bring permanent change in our lives, and to keep You in first place these weeks, this year, and until You come.
You are worthy of our praise, of our life, and of all of our heart! May your Kingdom come and your will be done.
Keep us desperate for eternal things.
Amen.

Extra
From Fast outlines in Isaiah 58.

Please read through Isaiah 58 again. You will be able to identify each one of these activations that God desires for the fast HE has chosen.

Please consider doing these activations throughout the fast:

  • Share your food with the poor. Keep food in your car. Give to the food bank. Buy a grocery money card and give it to someone the Lord highlights to you.
  • Invite someone over who is needy and give them what they need (natural and spiritual).
  • Provide a cover for Maybe someone needs a real physical blanket. Buy them, and put them in your car (or rain coats and umbrellas).
  • Be the person that blankets someone with no condemnation and prays them through a Come alongside them.
