Day: Day 6
Date: January 14, 2023
Title: KINGDOM LIVING: Jesus is Lord and Messiah!
The Kingdom Reality and the next pillar of truth released to the first New Testament Church is this.
Jesus is both LORD and MESSIAH (Anointed One).
Acts 2:36 NLT
So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!
What is Peter proclaiming here by a revelation by the Spirit of God?
He is proclaiming that, for CERTAIN, God has made this Jesus LORD!
Lord means God, Supreme in authority, Master.
Jesus is LORD and His name is not an ordinary name. It is a name that carries power. Using the name of Jesus is a key to Kingdom reigning in the earth. Heaven’s realities become ours as we recognize the price He paid for us to be restored to the Father, and receive it with a heart full of humility. Jesus – no other name that will ever exist will carry such weightiness, such authority, such power.
Philippians 2:9-11 KJV
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
God established and revealed Jesus’ lordship. God knew what Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross would accomplish. He would carry the highest name because of His sacrifice for mankind.
In the very first Holy Ghost-infused New Testament Church sermon, the lordship of Jesus is announced. His lordship would change everything. Jesus would be made known, not as just a miracle worker, but as the One who had supreme authority, the Master.
Those who followed Him, and now follow Him as His very own people, must recognize that without Him, they can do nothing. With Him, nothing is impossible!
Why is this so important to us as the Ekklesia, since we must move forward in the assignments that have been released to us for this timeframe?
It is importance because, when the lordship of Jesus is a settled issue in the Christian’s life, all other issues are also settled.
Someone once said it this way: Unless Jesus is Lord of all, He is not Lord at all.
Jesus is Lord because the Bible says He is. But, it is our choice to surrender our lives to the sovereign rule and ownership of the Lord Jesus Christ.
You know when you are calling Jesus, “Lord,” but you are really withholding parts of your life from Him, He really isn’t LORD. When you consider Him Savior, but you are not honoring Him with your actions, He really isn’t LORD.
For Jesus to be Lord of your life means that He is the ruler, the boss, and the master of your whole life. He cannot be Lord of a part — He must be given control of your entire life.
We are made of three parts:
- Body
- Soul
- Spirit
The visible parts of our lives may look one way to others, while the private inner parts of our life may be another.
Jesus deserves for us to call him LORD and give Him control of every aspect of ourselves.
Battles are fought and won or lost on the battleground of our private life.
That is why Jesus must be Lord over every area of our lives. For us to have the expression of the fullness of the power that has been invested in us, we must be more conscious of our LORD and move with His compassion.
When selfishness is completely surrendered to Him, the LORD arises within us and He becomes our life and the light of our life. Then He will be glorified through our actions.
Our inner life will express itself through our outer living.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV
19 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
The Christian life is a wonderful life. Christ has made every provision for His children to live full and abundant lives, but there is a cost involved.
Such a life does not come cheaply or easily. The life Christ has for His children requires that we die to ourselves. There can be no rivals to the throne of our life. It is to be occupied by Jesus alone.
Messiah means Anointed One.
Anointed means: through the idea of contact, to smear or rub with oil, to consecrate to an office or religious service.
Why did Peter, by inspiration of the Spirit, make this distinction?
Look at the Scripture in Luke that is quoted by Jesus from Isaiah 61 (Liberty Life Center’s founding Scripture).
Luke 4:18 NKJV
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
Jesus is saying the Spirit of His Supreme Master (His Father) was on Him, because until HE recognized His Father was in charge over Him, He would not be able to walk in the authority of the Father. When He acknowledged His Father for who He was, He was able to live consecrated only to Him and live for the desires of His Father’s heart.
When we recognize the Father’s supremacy in the authority of our own lives, what gets released? The anointing of God that will enable us to move into the realms of Kingdom Realities that change the way we live. We will bring forth His will on this earth, including:
- Preaching the good news
- Healing the brokenhearted
- Bringing freedom to captives
- Bringing sight to those that are blind (spiritually and physically)
- Bringing freedom to those that are crushed
This is a new season!
Hebrews 12:1b NASU
Let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
As we move into a new awareness of what is available to us through Jesus Christ, our LORD and Savior, our hearts will follow Him with joy. The things of this earth will not be enticing because as we behold Him, we will desire only to please Him.
In this surrender, the things assigned to us by God will become natural occurrences.
He is worthy of our surrender and our obedience.
The end result? We will be able ministers of God and joy will be ours. God invested much in our DNA.
Now is the time for us to realize it and walk it out.
ACTIVATION:
Go out today and look for someone who needs to be touched by His love. Take a word of blessing card, or a treat, or money, and tell someone that God was thinking about them today and He wanted to bless them. Ask them if they need prayer and expect God to use you today to bring joy today.
Hallelujah!
PRAYER:
Dear Jesus,
We humble ourselves before You today. We do not want to be in charge of our lives because we choose You to be LORD and MESSIAH of every part of us. We recognize that is exactly how we will live our lives aware of Your presence. In Your presence, there is joy, peace, and fulfillment.
We recognize that You are bringing what is needed for us to go forward into previously unknown realms of Your glory.
We love you, we will honor You. We will be empowered and partner with You to make disciples, empower and transform individuals, cities, and nations.
AMEN!
