Family

Husband of 33 years, Jeff; three children, Chris, Freddy and Sarah; one grandson, Noah

Saved (Salvation Story):

I got saved at a Billy Graham crusade in Kentucky when I was 14 years old. I remember really feeling a big change in my heart. I was happy, probably for the first time in my life. I felt God’s presence surround me. That feeling lasted for several weeks. The unfortunate thing was that I didn’t have anyone to guide me or nurture my new-found freedom, so I soon went back to my old ways. However, from that time on, I always just “knew” that God was with me. It wasn’t until I was married with children and my life was falling apart with a separation and a pending divorce, that God really intervened for me. I was at my bottom … low self-esteem, depressed, separated from my husband who had been, as he says, stupid in every way. My husband was at his lowest point as well, when he talked to the only Christian he knew and she sent him to Liberty Life Center for help. I agreed to go for counseling and we started going to church together. God saved our marriage, our lives, and the lives of our children. I started attending classes at Liberty and learned about the things of God, His love, His anointing, His presence and His peace. It was then that I rededicated my heart and life to the Lord. I was 31 years old and learning how to start over in life in so many ways. I have been at Liberty ever since, and I am happy to say that I’ve been married for 33 years to the same wonderful man!

One of the Things I Find Most Fascinating:

That God loves me unconditionally and will always work things out for my good

  • One of My Greatest Experiences with God

There have been many, but probably one of my favorites is when I first spoke in tongues. I was fairly new to Liberty and didn’t know anything about praying in the spirit. I had seen everyone from Liberty praying and thought it was so beautiful. I asked Pastor Dawn one day about it and she thought that I was already filled and speaking in tongues. We were on the phone and she said that it was a free gift, just like salvation and that even over the phone, God would be there for me. She told me what to do, how to pray, and to just hang up and start talking to God. So, I did. I began to pray and out came this amazing language! To me, it felt like I had only been praying for about five minutes, but when I looked at the clock, it had been three hours. God took me all over the world in a vision as I was praying; I heard different languages, accents … coming out of ME … it was amazing! I prayed for families, single moms, children, elderly … WOW, what an awesome experience!
