Today let us look at ALL OUT from a little different perspective:
- Working to one's maximum effort or capacity in order to achieve something
- Working to one’s maximum effort
Furthering our understanding, we must recognize that effort here means labor and work.
We usually apply this to what we work for to collect a check, but let us look to the Word for godly instruction.
John 6:27-29 NKJV
27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."
28 Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"
29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."
Jesus’ instruction here is for us to give maximum effort to believe.
We need to realize we have an enemy; and more than anything, he wants our faith in God to be shaken. That is how the devil believes he can ultimately win. But the opposite is also true. If the devil cannot shake our faith, he knows he will lose and we will win. The good news is, we have all been given a measure of faith.
Romans 12:3b NKJV
God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
God included faith in the ingredients of our DNA, so that we can hear the gospel and respond to it properly. We have to understand that when we get saved, we truly are saved with a great salvation which includes spending eternity in Heaven. It also provides us with promises for being able to prosper and to have peace. At the same time, the Bible tells us that in this world we will have tribulations. So how do those go along with each other? God hasn’t promised us a life without obstacles or challenges that seem overwhelming. He has promised us that in Him we can do all things. He has promised us that if we keep our focus right and our faith intact, we will weather the storms and be stronger by what we learn through them. That also means that we will have to press through to use maximum effort to receive maximum results.
2 Corinthians 10:15
We do not boast therefore, beyond our proper limit, over other men's labors, but we have the hope and confident expectation that as your faith continues to grow, our field among you may be greatly enlarged, still within the limits of our commission,
Our faith continues to grow as it is exercised, just like everything else. We must utilize it or it is easy to start sliding through life without recognizing that our faith is not at its optimum. We find that out quickly when we face adverse circumstances. That is why we must be reading the Word and putting it to use in our everyday life. The Word is truth. And truth triumphs over evil.
When things come against us in our lives, it will take effort for us to grab hold of the promises in the Word and stand firm on applying it. That takes a lot of effort. But the outcome is that we win! Hallelujah! Satan has no defense against pure faith in God. We have the amazing weapon of pure faith in God to utilize in spite of the problems.
Remember, God will back His Word, not your whining. So let me help you to go ALL OUT in obtaining and applying your faith until you receive the fullness of the blessing promised.
Paul gave us the blueprint for applying our faith.
For though I am away from you in body, yet I am with you in spirit, delighted at the sight of your [standing shoulder to shoulder in such] orderly array and the firmness and the solid front and steadfastness of your faith in Christ [that leaning of the entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].
The key is the Body of Christ standing together. Not just standing without purpose, but instead, it is standing firm and solid in faith. Look at that description of faith: leaning ENTIRELY on GOD in absolute confidence and trust in HIS power, wisdom and goodness.
Doesn’t that make something begin to arise on the inside of you? Don’t you feel energized as you lean on the God that we know, that we have access to 24 hours a day, who has all that we need and freely has given it to us?
That is how we learn to go ALL OUT continually. We are so aware of all He is and what He has provided for us that it moves us internally to engage externally for Him as we move with Him.
6 As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him.
7 Have the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving.
It is worth the effort to increase in our faith. We can continually be built up in Him until we abound in every area of our lives. Let’s do it!
help me—every single morning—to find faith in the midst of the chaos. Give me the desire and ability to see You, hear You, talk to You, and give thanks to You. As I do, I pray that I will draw nearer and nearer to You, and that my faith will multiply exponentially as I understand in new, deeper ways that You are everything I ever hoped You would be— and so much more.
