We are going to be those that God can count on to go ALL OUT. We have prayed and asked Him to help us, and we are confident He will.
What ALL OUT means to us and what ALL OUT means to God could be two different things, because we tend to think small and think with rationalized minds. When God thinks ALL OUT, He is doing something to change the world. That means that we will have to be people of endurance. Endurance means:
- The ability to withstand hardship or adversity
- The ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity
Throughout the Word, we have many examples of this. Noah had an extreme assignment that set him apart from others. God asked Noah to believe Him to do something HUGE and to believe Him for an event that had never been heard of or experienced ever before.
Genesis 6:9-10 ESV
9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.
10 And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
The first thing we are told about our man Noah is that he has a great personal relationship with God. He walked with Him and followed His ways as he was a righteous and blameless man. Think about the truth of this: if you are a righteous and blameless person, God will take note of you.
I love that God stops and notices, and then gives amazing assignments to those that He knows will endure through any hardship, through any ridicule, and finish an impossible job with just His Word to guide. In fact, God is looking for YOU if you have the right heart.
2 Chronicles 16:9a NKJV
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
Most scholars agree that building the ark took Noah 70 to 80 years. It sounded like science fiction to build the ark because “rain” was coming that would flood the earth. Come on now, that sounds like science fiction. Noah not only believed God, but and he engaged his family in the work also.
So let us ponder that for a moment. What kind of relationship would Noah have to have with God to start this work in the first place? And what kind of relationship would Noah have to have with his family to get them to engage? If Noah was not sure of God’s voice and if he did not have a CONTINUING relationship with God, he could not have accomplished this major task.
God is looking for His Bride to hear His voice and obey. He wants her to CONTINUE in a relationship with Him where she will just obey Him whether or not it makes any sense. This will take an enduring faith in God and an ALL OUT heart. She will not back off from her original determination to do what God says, whatever it takes and for as long as it takes.
Sadly, many Christians are willing to do things for a while, but if they don’t see a swift manifestation of what was supposed to occur, they lose their ability to stick with an assignment from God.
God is looking for enduring hearts with an enduring relationship with Him. He is looking for those who will obey in spite of any and all obstacles in their way or how outrageous the request from God sounds.
We must be aware of the days we are living in, and that God is counting on us to obey completely. He wants us to bring His love and share the gospel message because we know there will be a day of reckoning soon. We must be ALL OUT now so others can come ALL IN.
Think of the great passion and truth Noah must have been able to convey to his wife and children for them to get “on board” —pun intended! He must have been some salesman to convince them that water would fall from the sky that would cover the whole earth!
Passionate people who put their whole-hearted confidence in God and take Him at His Word will be an example to others, so they can know this God as well.
Noah continued. He endured. He finished. His accomplishment brought us a beautiful and awesome result.
Genesis 8:22 NKJV
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.
Our beautiful promise that seed, time, and harvest will remain is because of Noah’s endurance to the task given him!
God’s covenant remains to us until His return.
Genesis 9:13 NKJV
I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
This was the end result of Noah doing what God commanded him to do, for 70 plus years!
Genesis 6:22 ESV
Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
Note, that Noah didn’t do part of it and he didn’t do most of it; he did ALL that God commanded him. We must learn from Noah:
He was ALL IN and it qualified him to go ALL OUT.
We must examine our hearts today and ask if we would say yes if God asks us to do unprecedented, outrageous things for Him. Would we stay with our assignment until it was accomplished, no matter what?
Heidi Baker is pretty well known for the impact she has had on the nation of Mozambique and especially for saving the orphans there. She had an experience with God that changed her life completely. She was willing to leave sunny California and a life that was pretty plush, to live among a very needy people group that had nothing to offer her in the natural. God had told her He would give her a nation if she would obey, and He put the nation in her heart.
For 15 years there was virtually little fruit. In fact, she and her husband faced lack in many areas and endured much hardship until the real fruit began to be seen. Many people told them they had missed God. Many encouraged them to return to comfort, to give up and to let others take over. But they couldn’t take away Heidi’s promise, for she had experienced a time with God when He put the nation and the people in her heart.
Let us be the people who operate out of that kind of relationship with God. When He overtakes us with His love and His promises, we move forward, not for part of it, not for most of it, but for ALL of what God has assigned us, individually and corporately, to do. AMEN!
So today, we pray and we cry out to You, OUR GOD, the One who has designed all things in advance for us that we will walk in them and accomplish them ALL the way to the end! Give us endurance, and may we never think what You ask of us is impossible, because all things are possible WITH You. Count us ALL IN and we will go ALL OUT.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
