ALL OUT EMPOWERED PRAYER
There is no other way to be SPIRIT EMPOWERED than to be communing with the Godhead. Nothing ever happens that will have a lasting effect without prayer, for that is how we build relationship with God, Himself. That is how we become secure in who we are in Him and His faithfulness to us.
If we look at the people who changed the world, prayer was always at the forefront of their hearts. It brought revelation to them; thus they prayed for others to receive revelation as well.
Look at what Paul wrote to the Ephesians. Please take the time to read this slowly and concentrate on Paul’s heart for them, and what He knew needed to happen.
Ephesians 1:17-21 TPT
17 I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the SPIRIT of wisdom and the SPIRIT of revelation to know Him through your deepening intimacy with Him. 18 I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of His calling—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that He finds in us, His holy ones! 19 I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s POWER made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense POWER as it works through you! This is the mighty POWER 20 that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm! 21 And now He is exalted as first above every ruler, authority, government, and realm of POWER in existence! He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised, not only in this age, but in the age that is coming!
These Scriptures are so exciting because we can see through Paul’s prayers that he knew things would come in a personal way. Prayer would bring:
- Praise to our God
If we look back at history, we can see every revival was a result of prayer. Let us look at one of the most wonderful results:
The Businessman’s Revival
In 1857, America went through its worst depression prior to the Great Depression of the early 20th century. Millions of Americans were without work and seemingly without hope; things were especially bad in big cities.
Jeremiah Lanphier was a lay missionary who worked for the North Dutch Reformed Church in New York City. In September 1857, Lanphier invited businessmen all over New York to come to the North Dutch Church for one hour during their lunch break every Wednesday to do nothing but pray for revival. The lunch prayer meetings were a smashing success. By January 1858, similar prayer meetings were being held at churches all over New York City. Some churches were even hosting daily prayer meetings during the lunch hour.
The New York prayer meetings inspired similar prayer movements in other cities such as Philadelphia, Penn., Cincinnati, Ohio, and Charleston, S.C. By the time the revival ebbed in the fall of 1858, around 1 million Americans had converted and joined churches—almost all of them lived in cities.
Between 1859 and 1861, the prayer revival spread to the British Isles, where it is estimated another 1 million people were converted. Because of the rise of the modern mission’s movement in the previous two generations, the prayer revival also spread to parts of Africa, the Pacific islands and the East Indies—it was a global revival. The famous evangelist D. L. Moody and Hudson Taylor, the pioneering missionary to China, each began their ministries during the prayer revival. By Nathan A. Finn
Look at the POWER of prayer and how many people were swept into this mighty move of God! This started with one man who recognized the need for revival and the POWER of prayer, and he took action!
We are ALL very aware that God wants to invade this world again with POWER that is undeniable. It will change, not only a person, but nations. This revival did that because it was spread by prayer and the fire of the SPIRIT.
As the Lord was speaking to me about this year, He told me this:
It’s going to be like a lightning rod that comes from Heaven to earth that lights up a clear pathway, and that throws everything in its way OUT of vision, so that the people of God can stay focused on what He is saying and what He is calling us to do.
At the end of the lightning there is fire, and the fire is igniting hearts and minds once again to go back to where they left Him. That’s what has happened, even with prior moves. God was in it. God began it. Once He began it, the rhetoric started and the desire to be used came, and people started doing things in their own EMPOWERMENT.
I’m taking people back to the baseline, and I’m going to hit them with the fire of My true, holy presence again. Those who are looking for the authentic will sit at My feet and learn to obey Me, and will not start their own ways, but will stay in My ways. Then I will EMPOWER them and there will be movement—first in them, then in those around them. Until they are willing to impact their own family, their own territory, their own region of influence, I won’t expand their borders because they haven’t learned at My feet.
Today, let us spend time in concentrated prayer, seeking God for the same revelations that Paul had. Re-read the Scriptures and pray them out loud, please, for the move He has promised. Are we ready to be hit by His lightning rod that will throw the debris out of our way and cause us to stay focused on what He is saying for us to be involved in?
God will do it as we get intensely involved in fervent prayer—ALL OUT, SPIRIT EMPOWERED PRAYER THAT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING.
Lord, I pray that we will be ready for Your lightning rod that invades us so we can remain focused on what we need to stay focused on. We will pray deep prayers that go beyond our natural prayers, that come from deep within the very SPIRIT of God. Thank You for giving us the ability to birth things and bring them forth in our midst. As we pray, others will be overrun by the SPIRIT moving and drawing them OUT of the fog the enemy has entrapped them in, and they will be set free. I declare we will remain strong and sincere in our love. We will express Your eternal truths, as You lead us into deeper experiences with You. I pray that as we fast and pray, we will be more closely joined together and be constantly connected with You so our divine gifts can contribute to the growth of ALL,
In Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.
