ALL OUT - SPIRIT EMPOWERED HOLINESS
We know from the Word that we are called to live a different kind of life than those who live without experiencing the life-changing moment of salvation. Just think of what salvation includes!
John 3:17 KJV
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
First of ALL, salvation means that Jesus came to die and take our sins upon Himself so we would not be legally bound to pay the debt we owed for our sin.
Because of His sacrifice, we are saved. The word saved here is not just fire insurance, though it includes saved from hell. It comes from the Greek word sozo (sode'-zo), which means to:
- Deliver or protect (literally or figuratively)
- Do well
- Be whole or make whole
When we recognize ALL these things happened for us as we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we realize that we are able to live differently. And by differently, I mean to walk a holy life, one acceptable to Him to glorify His Name!
In order to live holy lives, we need to be in charge of our thoughts. The enemy likes to keep us focused on what is wrong instead of what we have been given.
There is a place we can be that will satisfy the deepest desires of our hearts. It is a place that people usually run from rather than run to, and that is the place of being “holy.” The reason they run, I believe, is because they think it will take them away from the things they want to do, and they will be unsatisfied.
This is nothing new, thinking that God is a withholder instead of a giver. The lie of the enemy started back in Genesis. He made Eve think that God was withholding that which would make her like God, when, in fact, Adam and Eve were ALREADY like God! He had created them in His image and in His likeness. They had access to Him every day, in every way.
Jesus has restored our access to God, and He has also given us the ability to walk as they did before they fell for the enemy’s lies. Being holy comes from being with the Holy One who will change our desires within us to conform to His image. He doesn’t take away what we want; He gives us the desire to want something that will be beneficial to us and bring us great joy and fulfillment.
Our thoughts must be guarded from the intrusion of the enemy’s lies.
1 Peter 1:13-16 NKJV
13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in ALL your conduct, 16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."
Did you get that? Be holy as He is holy! Holy in this instance means innocent, perfected, and clean. That is ours to obtain!
Again, the Lord spoke to me and said this:
Those who are affected by the fire and the lightning that I am sending, and who choose to stay connected to Me, I will teach them to overcome and to bring the victory–not only for themselves, but for those they love as well as for many others. They won’t even know how many people they are affecting, because I, the great I Am, will arise and will join them in their battle, their war for the victory.
You see, the high call takes us higher than we ever thought we could reach. We have a calling, a divine purpose that will actually fulfill the desires in our hearts that we may not have even been aware of. God is so good; He has instilled them inside of us before we were born, and He knows we will be delighted with every single one of them. Hallelujah! The SPIRIT EMPOWERMENT is for others, but it is for us also!
It will always start with desiring what He designed for us to desire—our divine calling.
Ephesians 4:1 TPT
As a prisoner of the Lord, I plead with you to walk holy, in a way that is suitable to your high rank, given to you in your divine calling.
We are the very children of God, and we are connected to Him and the POWER source of the Holy SPIRIT. He will keep us charged and moving forward with joy and excitement as we begin to see the results of our choices.
We ALL want to see the results of what we put our effort into, and as we put our effort into being like God, He is there to perfect that which is His desire. The world and even our own thinking tries to work against us, but we have amazing promises from God that enlighten us to the real truth.
Ephesians 2:19-22 TPT
19 So, you are not foreigners or guests, but rather you are the children of the city of the Holy ones, with ALL the rights as family members of the household of God. 20 You are rising like the perfectly fitted stones of the temple; and your lives are being built up together upon the ideal foundation laid by the Apostles and Prophets, and best of ALL, you are connected to the Head Cornerstone of the building, the Anointed One, Jesus Christ Himself! 21 This entire building is under construction and is continually growing under His supervision until it rises up completed as the holy temple of the Lord Himself. 22 This means that God is transforming each one of you into the Holy of Holies, His dwelling place, through the POWER of the Holy SPIRIT living in you!
When the enemy comes to accuse us of not being perfect in our pursuit of holiness, we just tell him that we are still under construction. We tell him that we are the temple of the living God. His indwelling presence EMPOWERS us by the SPIRIT to continue to overcome and prevail! Amen? Amen!
Thank You, Lord, for equipping me to not only live for You, but to be able to experience living a HOLY life before You. I am so grateful that You have given me new desires that will fulfill me in every way. Knowing that I am making a difference for others enables me to have a satisfaction that only comes by obedience to You. What a joy it is so serve You and be aware of Your holiness inside of me, renewing my mind and changing my actions. This is such a gift—to feel pure, to be assured of Your love every day, and to be rid of debris in my soul that has kept me doubting my own value. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me new life. I am determined to be like You—holy as You are holy.
I love You, Lord.
