ALL OUT – USE YOUR TALENTS
My friends, we are almost halfway through the fast, and God has been so good to us!
We know that:
- We must make God our number one priority.
- Prayer is the pathway to intimacy with God.
- Our lives are to be marked by holiness and driven by the desires He has placed in our hearts.
- Obedience seizes the opportunity to tap into ALL the blessings He has stored up for those who love Him.
- Any sacrifice we may offer to Him is nothing in comparison to what Jesus has done for us.
- Worship brings His presence, and in His presence there is joy, wisdom, and direction.
- ALL must be done unto Him and for others.
- Time is a big deal to ALL of us, so giving Him our time is vital. He is the only one who can multiply our time back to us. And He will!
Today we are going to look at “talents.” Any gifts and talents that we have are given by Him. He deserves our offering them back to Him as instruments He can use.
Ephesians 6:6 TPT
Always do what is right and not only when others are watching, so that you may please Christ as His servants by doing His will.
By this, we understand that others ARE watching. What we DO and HOW we do it matters.
We also know that whether or not others are watching, we are to do what is right because GOD is watching.
We usually think of this regarding our conduct at church, perhaps at home, or even in school (so you don’t get in trouble), but Paul doesn’t stop there in explaining the way we must offer our abilities to others.
Ephesians 6:7 TPT
Serve your employers wholeheartedly and with love, as though you were serving Christ and not men.
Christians should be sought after to be hired. If we are truly SPIRIT EMPOWERED to go ALL OUT, we must have the mindset to go ALL OUT wherever we are and in whatever we are doing. Paul admonishes us to serve and work with love, remembering it is not because they deserve it, it is because we are doing it for Jesus!
Imagine the influence that Christians would have in the workplace if their employers were confident they would work during the hours they were to work, and with excellence! Imagine if they knew their employees would never steal or take advantage, and that they were a good influence on other employees. What if they knew their employees spoke words that were a blessing to others and to their employer, and NOT just for their own advancement?
Of course, advancement will come. The Word doesn’t promise everyone will respond properly when you do what is proper; however, God will promote you when you honor Him with your talent in whatever you do.
But it goes even further than that:
Ephesians 6:8 TPT
Be assured that anything you do that is beautiful and excellent will be repaid by our Lord, whether you are an employee or an employer.
This makes me examine my heart consistently. I want ALL that I do to be beautiful and excellent FOR HIM, don’t you? Furthermore, God says this applies whether you are an employee or an employer.
Whether you are the instructor, the one in charge, or the worker that gets things done, the same instructions apply. You must USE your talents for God. You have gifts from God that you easily excel in. And you have skills that you developed and worked at so that you could use them well. Both are to be given unto God so that He is recognized working inside of us.
Today we are fasting and praying to be EMPOWERED by the SPIRIT to go ALL OUT for Him in what is easy and in what is not so easy to offer to Him.
I challenge you to:
- Recognize what God has given you as a talent.
- Utilize your talents on purpose—for God’s purposes!
- Decide to be the best you can be, wherever you are, with ALL that you have, to be a blessing.
Allow me to add to this from my heart. I am so appreciative to ALL of you who give of yourself to Liberty (or whatever church is your storehouse if you are joining us on this fast from other places). I can’t shout it loud enough or tell you often enough, how much it means to me and to the vision that God has called us to complete.
I am amazed at how much talent the people around me have. They are such a blessing, and they keep things running correctly. They do things I could never imagine being able to do. Though I cannot repay what everyone does, I often give you “a raise in the SPIRIT.” I know that God will repay you for ALL you do. He is not just a giver; He is a multiplier.
I am sure God smiles when He sees the effort you give as you honor the house of the Lord. I pray multiplied blessings upon you.
I come to You this day, Lord, and I ask You to help realize ALL that You have given me. Make it clear to me what You have given my hand to do. Lord, examine my heart and adjust whatever is necessary so that I can give ALL that You have given me to impact lives for the glory of Your Name.
I am sorry for any time that has not been the case. Please forgive me and make me aware of how much You have invested in me, so I can reinvest it in others.
I commit ALL that I have to You, Lord, OUT of a grateful heart.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
