ALL OUT - EMPOWERED BY THE SPIRIT TO USE TIME WISELY
In this new season, we can go forward by letting go of the things we are used to doing, so that we can embrace the things that God is doing.
We could take this in so many directions today, for there are many doors that need to be opened. One of the doors that we must push open is the willingness of our hearts to give our time to the things of the SPIRIT.
Since this is the year to be EMPOWERED by the SPIRIT to go ALL OUT, then we need to consider that it is necessary to spend extra time learning of the things of the SPIRIT, in the Word, in corporate services, and in our private time in prayer and seeking God.
We know that this is a time for us to surrender ALL to the Lord. This takes willingness to offer a sacrifice of one of the most valuable resources, time.
Ephesians 5:15-16 NKJV
15 See then that you walk circumspectly (carefully) not as fools, but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
In a lifetime, the average North American will spend:
- Six months sitting at stoplights
- Eight months opening junk mail
- One year looking for misplaced objects
- Two years unsuccessfully returning phone calls
- Five years waiting in line
- Six years eating
- Twenty-one years watching television or more, and that doesn’t include the time spent on social media
God has given us ALL the same amount of time. Contrary to popular belief, time is infinitely more valuable than money will ever be, because if you lose money, you can make more. If you lose time, it can’t be recovered. Our schedules are full, but we must manage our time and use it wisely.
Today, I want to be very practical on how we must prepare to live our lives as God intended us to live. We must purposefully break away from what we are doing at the present time that is counterproductive to living as God intended.
We make a determination every day of what we fit into our day. Most of us include (thank God!) these things as a must:
- Take a shower
- Brush our teeth
- Get dressed
- Drink coffee or tea or X, Y, Z
But what do we do next? How much time do we fit into our day to build ourselves in relationship with the Godhead?
We only have 24 hours a day, but let us think this through of how we can practically prepare to live each day. What can we be doing as we pick our clothes and take a shower? We can pray in the SPIRIT. We can listen to the Word play from our smart phones or computers, and we can pray that the SPIRIT will highlight something to be thinking about ALL day to get the truth to come alive inside of us.
If you don’t pray in tongues, then ask God and He will fill you with this beautiful gift as He promised. To begin, pray OUT loud in your own language, but ask the SPIRIT what He is focusing on and join Him. He will give you what you desire as you seek the higher things of God.
In these last days, we need the EMPOWERMENT of the SPIRIT to walk in freedom and to bring freedom to others! While we drink our coffee, tea, water or protein drink, make sure to focus on satisfying the SPIRIT as well as body and soul.
ALL through the day, on purpose give attention to what the SPIRIT is saying.
We are called to be good stewards of ALL that God has given us. We are also called to REDEEM the time. Redeeming the time means we must use our time as an opportunity to see the doors that God is opening before us and walk through them. We must make the most of every occasion and every opportunity to spend time loving God, loving people, and serving them in whatever they need in the moment. That is when His Name is glorified.
One day, our time on earth will come to an end, and we will be asked to give an account of how we invested the gift of time that was given to us.
The Apostle Paul said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” We fight in the SPIRIT if we are to win over the natural. We do GOD things during our race to reach others for the Kingdom. We keep the faith only if we use our time as God prescribes us to daily. As we honor Him for who He is and what He has done for us, it becomes a privilege to offer whatever He desires to Him.
We must keep our focus centered on Him. His voice becomes clear to us and prepares a pathway for us to receive His impartation to build us up on a firm foundation from which we can operate in the deep things of God. We ALL have only 24 hours a day.
What time do you think you would give to Him if you could see by the SPIRIT?
- What if even just one person was rescued from hell’s flames because of your obedience?
- What if ALL our family members served the Lord with ALL their hearts?
- What if healing came not only to our own bodies, but through us to bring healings to others?
- What if our voices were full of POWER to direct people from destruction into the safety of God’s hands?
- What if we had influence that could affect society and bring the Kingdom of God into operation on the earth, preparing for our Lord’s return?
We are living in a time where our time is necessary to offer before the Lord. We must have an understanding as David did.
Psalm 90:12 YLT
Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
God will help us order our days with divine wisdom to accomplish His purposes and to bring joy to our life! Think of the disciples. They left everything and followed Jesus everywhere He went for three years. Convenience wasn’t an option. Obedience was the only option but what they then experienced with Jesus changed their lives and changed others’ lives. It gave them joy to see others receive and be saved, healed, and delivered! What will we do with our time?
Father, help us to surrender our time to You. There are so many distractions, so many options and so many responsibilities. We can’t even figure OUT what is of the most importance without Your direction. We want to live for You! We want to be SPIRIT EMPOWERED! We have decided to go ALL OUT, and we will need Your time structures to accomplish Your will. We know You will give us peace, joy, purpose and excitement as we prepare a people to receive ALL that You have prepared for those that love You. In Jesus’ Name we pray.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
